What are safety shoes?
Safety shoes are footwear specially designed to protect your feet against hazards you may encounter when working or in hazardous conditions. A familiar type of safety shoe is the steel-toed boot, which provides protection for your toes if you accidentally dropped something on your feet. Safety shoes can protect you against a variety of hazards, including sharp objects that would puncture the soul of a normal shoe, or protection from electrical shocks. Who needs safety shoes?
Of course, we'd be tempted to reply “Everyone!", but safety shoes really can help protect your feet both at work and at home. For example, how many times have you dropped something heavy on your foot while mending your car, cutting logs, or tending to your backyard? A good pair of safety boots makes a great present for anyone who enjoys working outdoors, whatever the time of year.

Are your athletic shoes safety shoes?
Good question! Our range of athletic shoes are not in themselves safety shoes, but they do provide proper support and often have anti-static properties, making them suitable for both work and sport. I need safety boots for work; which should I choose?
You should always choose safety boots that are suitable for the hazards you encounter every day at work. Most companies should have a health and safety officer who will be able to advise you on the type of footwear you require. Do you sell ladies work boots?
We sell a large range of safety shoes and work boots for both ladies and gentlemen. Usually, we refer to these as men's safety shoes and women's safety shoes, although we know all of our customers are ladies and gentlemen at heart!

Is your safety footwear suitable for winter?
Not all our safety footwear is suitable for use throughout our hard Canadian winters, so we have a special category on our website for winter boots. Our range of winter boots for men and women combine comfort, warmth and resistance to rain, snow, and ice, and proper shoe care will both enhance and lengthen the life of your winter boots.

Are safety boots the same as hunting boots?
We have a whole section of our online store dedicated to hunting boots. We sell two of the best hunting boots brand we know, Irish Setter and Rocky hunting boots. Both brands offer superb boots for every type of hunting, including rubber hunting boots, insulated hunting boots, and top quality leather hunting boots.

I'm looking for clothing for work. Do you stock this?
We stock a range of specialist work wear including high visibility clothing and reflective jackets, winter and work gloves, work or clothing including overalls and bibs, rain boots and waterproof rain jackets, and even some very warm socks!

Is it safe to buy my safety shoes online?
Buying shoes online from Oleyland is as safe and secure as if you walked into one of our stores! Are US shoe sizes the same as Canada shoe sizes?
