Visit us in Ingersoll or Markdale, and make a day of it!

Ingersoll is just off Highway 401 at exit 216, and lies on the Thames River in Oxford County. The town was originally called Oxford-on-the-Thames, but renamed after the founder Thomas Ingersoll. Ingersoll was home to the first commercial cheese factory founded in around 1840, and in 1866 a giant block of cheese was produced that was exhibited at the New York State Fair!

Ingersoll is known as the Festival town, as there is always something being celebrated here, be it the Ribfest, Canterbury Folk Festival or Winter Lights Festival. Our store has plenty of parking in our own private car park. See the town's website at http://www.ingersoll.ca.

Markdale is on Highway 10 around 25 miles south of Owen Sound on Georgian Bay, and was founded in 1846. One of the early settlers was Mark Armstrong, and his family played a major part in the commercial life of the village, establishing various factories, so it's likely the village was named after him.

Today, Markdale has a lively community of artists and artisans, and the nearby Beaver Valley ski resort attracts visitors all winter long. If you love golf, bring your clubs when you come to visit us, as the Markdale Golf & County Club is just up the road from our safety shoe outlet. We have plenty of parking out front too, and a very tempting ice-cream factory and parlour is just a short stroll away! See the village website at http://www.village.markdale.on.ca.
